I'm experimenting with different ways of generating mountain geometry. First attempts using bitmap relief ended up with massive polygon counts and a lot of distortion, here's a screen grab of a more successful polygon model.
Once again I feel compelled to eat the landscape; every mountain range produced so far looks so tasty! This can only be a good thing. On a more sensible note, maybe we should consider more detailed on the mountains; since we seem to all agree that closer detail going past the window is necessary it might be interesting to add detail to the wider world too, providing it isn't overly complicated a task. Might improve the over all believability of the world we're building for the characters.
